We met, believe it or not through the internet. I used to chat to some friends online and one day my messenger kept popping up an instant message from a guy called "PeterPan" asking if I wanted to chat. I told him in no uncertain terms that I was busy (I thought he would be just another online idiot). I logged off for the afternoon glad to be rid of him. Later on that night I decided to log back in to see if anyone was about when suddenly 'ping' went the familiar sound and there was the persistent little chap again (apparently, I was the only woman in a 30 mile radius that had been online all day). I decided it was too much trouble to get rid of him so I decided to chat back.
We got talking most evenings on a regular basis and I soon discovered he knew a lot about computers. As I had recently spent an extortionate amount of money on a new PC because mine had broken, I thought this would be a good union to keep. I told him about my financial bankruptcy resulting from buying a PC and he offered to come round and fix the old one.
And that was the start! He came round and basically never left.
Who says internet dating doesn't work!
That first meeting was on 1st May '99 and we have been together ever since. This in mind we thought we ought to make an effort and start our wedding plans.
